Decrease Abdominal Fat in Obese Men

November 4, 2019 By Connie Odom

Metro MediSpa hormone replacement therapy

Obesity is a global problem. One of the major factors that regulate the proportion of fat in one’s body is the growth hormones that regulate fat break down, also known as lipolysis. These hormones hit their highest levels in one’s twenties. But their levels start declining with advancing age.

Various GHPs or Growth Hormone Peptides become useful when someone is suffering from growth hormone insufficiency. This hormone replacement therapy can also be employed for rapid and efficient abdominal fat loss in obese men.  This oral therapy usually comprises Ipamorelin (CJC1295) and Oxandrolone. Let’s discuss both of these:

IPAMORELIN

Used initially as anti-paralytic medicine, Ipamorelin/CJC 1295 is now better known as a weight-loss treatment.

Ipamorelin works by stimulating the secretion of GHRH or Growth hormone-releasing hormone, which in turn enhances the human growth hormone yield.

Ipamorelin does not interfere with the regulation of the body’s natural hormones like cortisol, aldosterone, prolactin release; thus, it does not have any adverse side effects like increased hunger that other hormonal therapies do.

Ipamorelin/CJC 1295 benefits:

Fat Loss In Obese Men – The main advantage of using Ipamorelin/CJC 1295 is abdominal fat loss in 40-60 years old obese men. It augments the fat loss process call lipolysis and helps in improving overall health.

Gain Lean Muscle Mass – With enhanced lipolysis, ipamorelin gives a boost in metabolism in men, especially obese ones. This boost leads to lean muscle mass growth that helps in better health and physique in men.

Anti-aging Effects – The liver is responsible for the synthesis of IGF-1. This factor has a role in tissue regeneration and bone health. Ipamorelin augments IGF-1 synthesis and leads to:

  • Better bone strength
  • Healthy joints
  • Strong connective tissues
  • Sleep regulation
  • Immunity boost
  • Stamina

OXANDROLONE

Oxandrolone is an anabolic steroidal medicine. It resembles the body’s natural hormones produced in men.

The main use of oxandrolone is for pain management caused by osteoporosis in obese men.

It is used in the recovery of lost body weight caused by surgical procedures, long-term infections, injury, or excessive corticosteroid drug use. Improves overall body structure in men. It helps in the restoration of tissues after severe burns.

Oxandrolone is an oral medication available in the form of tablets taken usually 2-4 times a day with food or with milk. Its dosage depends on one’s medical condition and therapeutic effects. Oxandrolone therapy is a short term treatment.

Scientific Research

A study on the abdominal fat loss in older obese men comparing ipamorelin and oxandrolone with testosterone replacement therapy.  The oxandrolone-ipamorelin treatment resulted in more significant fat loss in the abdominal, visceral, and thigh areas of obese men. The most prominent indirect effects were decreased cardiovascular risks due to weight loss.

Hormones and Weight Loss: Reshape Your Body and Your Life

August 29, 2019 By Connie Odom

Metro MediSpa hormones and weight loss

Many people are unable to identify the root cause behind weight gain. They often complain about not losing weight even though they are exercising regularly and consuming the adequate amount of calories. The root cause behind an individual being unable to get rid of extra fat may be their hormones. A hormonal imbalance can make it difficult to shed extra pounds. Here are a few examples of how hormones and weight loss are connected:

The primary fat-storage hormone within our body is insulin. Insulin processes sugars into energy, but any excess is stored as fat for future needs. A diet high in sugar makes the process inefficient. Reducing the consumption of sugary foods and carbs helps control insulin levels in the body.

The levels of cortisol (the stress hormone) should also be controlled. High levels over an extended period can increase the amount of food consumed in a day that leads to weight gain. To control the amount of cortisol produced sufficient sleep along with a balanced diet is of utmost importance.

In females, the hormone estrogen plays a vital role in weight gain. Both high and low levels of estrogen can contribute to weight gain. It makes it difficult for women to lose weight even if they are trying to do so by following a proper diet chart.

People designated as obese are likely to be resistant to the hormone leptin. Leptin controls energy levels by inhibiting hunger. It tells the body to stop eating. People who are leptin resistant do not get this signal. It is obvious why this would cause weight gain.

Hormone imbalance can be the result of improper diet and insufficient sleep, but diseases and medications can also cause an imbalance.

Consult with a provider who specializes in weight loss to help pinpoint the root cause of weight gain. Hormone imbalance is a common cause so hormone testing may be done. Once a thorough evaluation is completed, a health plan can be developed, and you will be on the road to lower weight and better health in no time.

Hormone Replacement Therapy May Improve Bone Loss

April 9, 2018 By Connie Odom

Metro MediSpa hormone replacement therapyOsteoporosis is a disease that causes bones to break down and weaken. The condition often progresses showing no symptoms or pain. It is often discovered when weakened bones develop fractures in the hip or back causing chronic pain. The exact cause for osteoporosis is not known. However, in women, the disease is associated with reduced levels of estrogen during and after menopause. Bone loss may begin during early menopause which happens before age 45. After menopause, the rebuilding of new bone is overtaken by bone resorption (the process that transfers calcium from bone tissue to the blood).

Scientific studies show that accelerated bone loss is at its peak during the few years before and after a woman’s last period. Other factors that raise the risk of osteoporosis are a petite, thin body structure and heredity of the condition. During perimenopause and menopause, there are treatments that one can undergo to keep bones strong and healthy and minimize bone loss or osteoporosis. They include prescription medication, calcium and vitamin D supplements, weight-bearing exercises and hormone replacement therapy.

Hormone Replacement Therapy and Osteoporosis

Researchers believe that hormones such as estrogen play a significant role in bone health. It is why they recommend hormone therapy as a means to prevent or treat osteoporosis in women. Estrogen preserves calcium in the body and prevents bone resorption. Studies by endocrinologist Dr. Jerilynn Prior and other scientists show that progesterone may help in building bone, but some scientists have discovered otherwise.

The effectiveness of hormone replacement therapy in treating osteoporosis during perimenopause and menopause is uncertain. However, it is recommended for women:

  • In early menopause.
  • With low bone mass measured by a bone density test.
  • With a petite, thin frame.
  • With an osteoporosis family history.
  • With medical conditions linked to osteoporosis.

Some forms of hormone replacement therapy increase the risk of developing blood clots, breast cancer, gallbladder disease and high blood pressure. Consult a doctor to determine the suitability of this treatment.

Is Stress in Your Life Causing Adrenal Fatigue?

October 23, 2017 By Connie Odom

Metro MediSpa adrenal fatigueThe adrenal gland is found just above the kidneys and is part of the human endocrine system.  This gland produces cortisol among other hormones. Cortisol, a steroid also known as the stress hormone, determines and influences how the body responds to stress. Under intense, stressful conditions the likelihood of insufficient production of this important hormone can lead to a condition called Addison’s disease.

The inadequate production of cortisol may lead to a person’s adrenal gland putting in an extra shift to help compensate for the shortfall. This overworking of the adrenal gland, especially in individuals who are under high physical, mental or emotional stress leads to adrenal fatigue. Difficulty waking up, body aches, protracted tiredness of the body and general weakness are some of the symptoms associated with adrenal fatigue. If left unchecked, adrenal fatigue could lead to lack of sleep, appetite and prolonged stress ultimately leading to depression. Other key symptoms that one may be suffering from Adrenal fatigue are: arthritis, difficulties in concentration, increased PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome), lowered sex drive, muscle weakness, unexplainable salt cravings, and anxiety.

How to Remedy Adrenal Fatigue

For anyone experiencing the above signs and symptoms, Stress Stop is here for you. Four of The Main Causes of Estrogen Dominance in Men

May 22, 2017 By Connie Odom

Metro MediSpa estrogen dominance in menThe human anatomy is a truly miraculous creation that in truth, is far more complicated than many people can even begin to comprehend. When it comes to our hormones, in particular, getting the right balance is essential if we wish to enjoy a healthy and productive life. Though it is often considered to be a female-only issue, in men estrogen dominance is a very real, and fairly serious matter that will need to be addressed sooner rather than later. Estrogen dominance is a condition where men find that estrogen becomes the dominant hormone in their bodies, rather than testosterone. Estrogen is naturally present in the male body, though ideally, it should only be present in small amounts, with testosterone being the dominant hormone. If Estrogen becomes the dominant hormone, there will be problems. To understand Estrogen dominance in men, we need to look at what causes it, so let’s take a more detailed look, shall we?

Constricting underwear – You’ve all seen those famous underwear ads for men, and you’ve all seen how tight the underwear on the insanely ripped male models is. Tight underwear, however, can be a contributing factor towards estrogen dominance in men, due primarily to the fact that it squeezes the testes so tightly, causing them to become overheated. Blood flow is also constricted, which can reduce testosterone and cause estradiol levels to increase. This condition can also affect a man’s fertility.

Being overweight – Obesity is linked to all kinds of ailments in people of all ages and genders, including estrogen dominance in males. Fat tissues and cells contain enzymes which convert proteins into testosterone, which is then converted into estradiol. So, when you’re carrying more fat,  estradiol levels will increase, causing estrogen dominance. Ironically, estrogen dominance also causes weight gain.

Unhealthy diet – An unhealthy diet is one of the leading contributors for estrogen dominance, due in large part that many processed foods have been genetically modified, and treated with chemicals which have estrogen mimicking effects inside the body. Many animal products, especially dairy, can cause an increase in estrogen levels. Instead, try to consume more organic, fresh, and natural foods.

Alcohol and caffeine consumption – A little of what you enjoy is fine, but if you drink too much caffeine or alcohol, your estrogen levels may spike. Caffeine can trigger estrogen dominance, whereas alcohol is made from ingredients which can mimic estrogen within the body.

Hormone levels are determined by a simple blood test.  Testosterone therapy is available for men who have high estrogen levels.  Getting those hormone levels balanced is important to reduce symptoms.

How To Treat Hormonal Imbalance In Women

March 21, 2017 By Connie Odom

Hormone Replacement Therapy for Hormone Imbalance Reduced hormone levels can lead to a multitude of unpleasant symptoms including mood instability, hot flushes, improper digestion, insomnia and significant risk of chronic disease. There are many ways to manage hormonal imbalance in women using natural methods and healthcare practices. The following tips can help incorporate the proper solutions to prevent complications and severe wellness issues.

Many people are placed on synthetic hormone prescriptions to return the body to its balanced state. Unfortunately, this type of medication can cause serious and uncomfortable side effects that increase the risk of dysfunction without resolving the underlying cause. Long-term use of prescriptions can lead to heightened anxiety, physical limitations, and risk of cancers.

A healthier approach incorporates healthier types of fats into the daily diet such as coconut oil and oily fish high in Omega-3 and Omega-6 fats. For the body to function optimally, it requires natural fats to produce hormones. These essential fats also work to decrease inflammatory processes and provide the body with the building blocks it needs to maintain a healthy immune system.

Consuming more fiber in fresh fruits and whole grains keeps a clean and healthy condition of the digestive tract. Consuming processed foods wreak havoc on the stomach, and also on hormonal production. Yogurts full of probiotics and healthy cultures will restore the operation of the abdominal system and protect against inflammatory responses.

Create a suitable exercise plan and find ways of alleviating chronic stress. The impact of sedentary lifestyle and stress can leave the body in a state of imbalance causing unhealthy fat to accumulate around the abdomen and compromise healthy hormone production. Keeping weight in control and finding time to relax will facilitate healthy results.

Lifestyle changes including the appropriate vitamin and mineral supplement can encourage balanced hormone levels. The goal for alternative therapy is to assist patients in managing the impact that hormone imbalances can have on regular physical and emotional function. Healthcare strategies discussed with a medical practitioner can help address risk factors.
