Botox Is Science But It Works Like Magic!
Are you frequently asked if you’re worried or angry when you’re simply paused in thought? Or maybe you’ve noticed that you no longer turn heads like you used to when you walk into a room “dressed to kill.”
Don’t let your face say “weary” when what’s really inside is a fantastic, vibrant woman.
Botox® — the product of real science, not Hollywood hype — can give you a natural-looking, younger face when administered by an experienced professional.
Botox® was first approved by the FDA in 1989 to treat eye muscle disorders years after a San Francisco ophthalmologist found it useful in relaxing the muscles that caused eyes to cross. Further research showed that the muscle-relaxing properties in Botox would also work on other facial muscles, and make the furrowed lines between eyebrows disappear.
In 2002, the FDA approved an application by Botox-patent holder Allergan to market prescription Botox® Cosmetic. More than a decade later, it’s still the most widely used cosmetic medical treatment in the US. Meanwhile, the FDA-approved uses for non-cosmetic Botox have continued to expand to a variety of disorders such as excessive perspiration, migraine headaches, incontinence and muscle spasms.
Most frequently used on the upper two-thirds of the face, Botox Cosmetic injections are effective at relaxing the muscles that form long horizontal wrinkles across your forehead, as well as the furrows between your brows. Crow’s feet, those little crinkles around your outer eyes, and bunny lines, those wrinkles running from the inner corner of your eye to your nose, can also be minimized by injections of Botox Cosmetic.
Done with a very thin needle, the injections are virtually painless and can be completed in as little as 15 minutes when done by an experienced professional. Botox is sometimes used in conjunction with dermal fillers injected beneath the skin to replace the body’s natural collagen.
The wrinkle-reducing benefits of a Botox treatment are generally fully apparent within a week and typically last about three months, although some patients see results for longer. It’s not uncommon for subsequent treatments to last longer as muscles become accustomed to their relaxed state.
